What to wear as a pallbearer?

Do i have to have to wear a suit or would black dress pants with a dress shirt and a tie be okay? I don't have a suit but should i buy one?

i would definitely get a suit, it'd be appropriate for this situation. i pallbeared (pallbore?) this summer and i wore a suit and it was good.

you'll need one anyway in life for job/whatever so it's worth it

You can always buy a suit coat that matches the slacks and shirt you currently own...

He who chooses his plan for himself, employs all his faculties. He must use observation to see, reasoning and judgment to foresee, activity to gather materials for decision, discrimination to decide, and when he has decided, firmness and self-control to hold to his deliberate decision.

If money is an issue you can always rent one from your local wedding store. Most give discounts for funerals, so ask if they have that policy.

Many suit stores do by one-get-one..... I recently had to be the pallbearer for my mom...felt bad man.

FYI caskets are heavy so make sure you can move your arms well

I would for sure get a suit man. If you cant afford a full suit, and have khakis, get a blue blazer and white shirt. Suits are good investments for all young males...you never know when you need one, and a good one can be altered/last forever.

My grandpa has suits from 40-50 years ago that I would wear now.

    also condolences for the loss

i'd say black suit. Doesn't have to be fancy. Mens wearhouse usually has fairly decent deals. I picked up 2 at a buy one get one sale, complete with accessories, 1 navy one black included alterations

get a suit. had to do it for my grandfather. my manlet cousins said that i should just do it myself since i probably could. pissed me off, my uncles didn't understand how disrespectful it was to my grandfather.

but yeah, don't get a cheap suit. expect to pay 350-750 for a decent entry level one. you want to go someplace like mens warehouse at least that does in house tailoring so they can get the fit exactly right. its important because youll feel a lot more comfortable in one once you get them glares. instead of being a fat sweaty guy in a hot suit.... toomuchrealife.jpg.mov.mp3
