White is purity and white gloves have a ceremonial usage. They
are used in this regard by some traffic police , artillery
officers, when pulling the lanyard to fire a cannon, in ceremonial
usage ( in battle they use ordinary field gloves to protect their
hands, these things get hot) and other official uses. Opera Gloves
are usually white, on occasion they are also worn, for reasons of
visibility, but orchestra conductors . Some RR conductors also- but
